About Poga

Poga is property management built the way property runs across Africa.

We started in Ghana — a market where most rent moves on local payments like mobile money, tenants don't come with credit scores, and many owners are running their units from abroad. The tools built elsewhere don't fit. So we built one that does.

What property management even is

For a lot of people across Africa, owning a property and running one are still the same thing — done informally, between WhatsApp threads and a friend on the ground trying to keep an eye on things.

Property management is what turns that into a system. The everyday work of running a rental so it stays occupied, paid, and looked after — and so you have a record of all of it.

Done well, it covers five things: finding and vetting tenants, collecting rent, handling maintenance, keeping the paperwork in order, and staying on the right side of the law. Software like Poga gives you the toolkit a good property manager would use — without the percentage they'd charge.

What we're doing

We're building Poga for the property owner with one unit in East Legon, the agency running fifty across Accra, and the diaspora landlord renting out a family home from London, Houston, or Toronto.

One place to:

• Collect rent on local payments and bank transfer, with reminders, late fees, and proper receipts.
• Screen tenants without a credit bureau — application forms, references, and ID checks.
• Sign tenancy agreements digitally and keep every signed lease against the unit.
• Track maintenance, documents, and every payment in one ledger with a full audit trail.
• For developers, the same toolkit across sale, mortgage, and rental — one record per unit, no data lost between stages.

And it all runs from a phone, which is how most of our owners check on their properties.

Built for Africa, country by country

Most property software assumes a credit bureau, bank rails for everything, and a landlord living down the road. African markets don't work that way.

So we built Poga differently. Payment rails, ID checks, and rent rules swap in per country — so Poga fits each African market instead of forcing one mould. We're live in Ghana, and growing across the continent from there.
